Recently edited a book on John Lindsay's New York, who served as mayor from 1966-74. Book is about man and the period covering both national and local affairs. Presently writing a book on the mayoralty of Bill deBlasio in New York. Have published eleven books and more than 100 articles and essays on education policy, state and local governance, and law and policy.
