His current research interests are in the areas of international political economy, innovation and creativity management, strategic management, foreign policy studies, diplomacy, national security studies, and federalism. Specifically, he focuses on the design, development, and creation of premier high technology economy corridors in international border regions; comparative studies of the economies of international border regions; and comparative study of high technology/innovation clusters ecosystems. Additionally, he also focuses on foreign policy decision making systems and theories; national security policy systems and dynamics; and comparative analysis of federalism (as a mechanism for the management of internal conflicts caused by ethnicity, nationalism, religion and/or regionalism).
