I am currently involved in three primary areas of research: the evolving funding process within the Department of Homeland Security as well as continuing to analyze the intergovernmental and interagency challenges of a department of this nature, contributing to a greater understanding of terrorism, terrorist organizations, and counterterrorism policy, and contributing to the scholarship on teaching and learning within political science, particularly in the area of research methods. In addition, much of my time is spent researching issues important to state and local public and non-profit agencies in South Dakota, particularly those on the public safety sector through our Government Research Bureau.
