One project considers the national patterns of state removal of peace officers' licenses for such officers that engage in misconduct as part of state patterns to control local police departments and the behavior of individual officers. A second project involves a dynamic analysis of internal U.S. Supreme Court decision making and seeks to develop new concepts to understand that behavior. The period under investigation involves the Warren through Rehnquist Courts.
